There are certain foods that are toxic foods for dogs. It may be safe for humans but dogs have a different digestive system and are not used to eating certain foods that humans eat. Some of the safe foods for humans can become toxic foods for dogs. Here is a list of safe foods to feed your dog.

1. RHUBARB LEAVES Contain oxalates (some type of acid), which can affect the digestive, nervous, and urinary systems.
2. AVOCADO, the leaves, seeds, fruit, and bark contain persin (it is a fungicidal toxin present in the avocado. It is generally harmless to humans, but when consumed by domestic animals in large quantities it is dangerous), which can cause vomiting and diarrhea.
3. TABLE SCRAPS (in large amounts) are not nutritionally balanced and can be deadly in some cases. Human foods also contain spices that are not healthy for dogs.
4. CITRUS OIL extracts (Limonene and Linalool), can cause vomiting. Linalool exposure causes more severe clinical signs for a longer duration than d-limonene. If the product also contains piperonyl butoxide, the toxic effects of citrus oil extracts may be increased.
5. GRAPES AND RAISINS contain an unknown toxin, which can damage the kidneys. Deaths have been reported with large ingestions. Repeated vomiting and hyperactivity are early signs of poisoning.
6. MACADAMIA NUTS contain an unknown toxin, which can affect the digestive and nervous systems and muscles.
7. MILK AND OTHER DAIRY PRODUCTS Some adult dogs and cats may develop diarrhea if given large amounts of dairy products. It can cause coughing. The bacteria in dairy products are not naturally needed for dogs.
8. Wheat and Corn is the main ingredient in dry food for dogs and cats. Corn, soy, and wheat are three of the biggest culprits as far as food
allergies in dogs go. Itchy, red, flakey skin and a dull coat are common symptoms of food allergies. Dogs are carnivores and therefore should get their protein from meat, not grains.
9. YEAST DOUGH can expand and produce gas in the digestive system, causing pain and possible rupture of the stomach or intestines.
10. ONIONS / GARLIC / Mushroom (raw, cooked, or powder) Contain sulfoxides and disulfides, which can damage red blood cells and cause anemia. Cats are more susceptible than dogs. Garlic is less toxic than onions. Mushrooms can contain toxins, which may affect multiple systems in the body, cause shock, and result in death.
11. CHOCOLATE, COFFEE, TEA, AND OTHER CAFFEINE contain caffeine, theobromine, or theophylline, which can cause vomiting and diarrhea and be toxic to the heart and nervous systems.
12. SALT AND SPICES, large amounts of salt can produce excessive thirst and urination, or even sodium ion poisoning in pets. Signs that your pet may have eaten too many salty foods include vomiting, diarrhea, depression, tremors, elevated body temperature, seizures, and even death. Even the most common household spices, could be problematic for your furry companion. In other words, keep those salty chips to yourself!
13. PITS AND SEEDS FROM FRUITS such as apples, peaches, plums, apricots, persimmons, and cherries are considered dangerous foods for dogs and can cause fatalities. Intestinal or bowel obstruction which left untreated can cause DEATH.
14. BONES FROM FISH, POULTRY, OR OTHER MEAT sources can cause obstruction or laceration of the digestive system. If given bone to your dog, it should be a raw and fitting size for your dog.
15. XYLITOL (ARTIFICIAL SWEETENER) can cause very low blood sugar (hypoglycemia), which can result in vomiting, weakness, and collapse. High doses can cause liver failure.
